Help inkjet printer!?
I have a Dell J740 printer and I was thinking of buying the refill kit instead of buying 2 cartridges new ones cost about $ 60, the replacement, of course, will be less and only half and I may have up to 5 refills is only …. How I can tell if my cartridges are in good condition to be filled? If any1 knows how can I say please let me know. * I checked my cartridges last night and wiped down on the forehead with a cotton because it seemed that there was no ink on the front and green out (I'm not sure if this is due to their own ink) * I DONOT have the 2 $ to buy new cartridges (IDK does already) * I have not used my printer in about 1 or 2 years
(do not ask why)
Normally I would say a refill kit would be fine, however ….. you said "I have not used my printer in about 1 or 2 years" and that presents a problem. If you have made Green went something printed and I am surprised that prints at all. The ink is not designed to be flexible and usable after that period of time without being sealed in the original packaging. Ink dries on the inner surface printheads and the ink will not come out when printed. You can try cleaning the print heads with alcohol and wiping them clean with a sturdy canvas, but may not be enough. I would say that buying a refill kit without knowing whether the work printheads correctly would be a waste of time and money. After the length of time it would be highly recommended to buy new cartridges instead as this would give you clean, fresh printhead ink dry, covered with old ink, and if that leaves ink cartridge itself, you definitely need to be replaced or will a heck of a mess inside the printer. New print head / ink cartridges would be the direction recommended in this case. Sorry if this is not answer you're looking for, but it is the truth of the situation where you are. Inkjet printers need to use all the days or weeks, depending in the printer, the ink to keep cool and work without drying. The ink is expensive, but some people say that it is sometimes cheaper to buy a new printer than is to purchase an existing ink to the printer. Best of luck.
