How To Use Your Printer To Cope With Grief

People die every day of various causes – accidental, natural, medical, criminal or what-have-you. However, you would not be grieving for someone who just died unless it is someone you knew or someone you loved.

Grief strikes us in different ways, and our ways of coping with grief vary just as much. You can cope with grief by working on printer projects in order to attain relief and catharsis. Here are some common printer projects that you can do.

Photo Albums and Scrapbooks

Photographs are records of our memories with our loved ones. One way of coping with grief from the death of a loved one is by gathering his or her photographs and putting them in an album or a scrapbook. You can print out pictures of your departed loved one on photo paper and create a scrapbook. You can also borrow photographs from the other people close to your loved one so that you can scan them and print them out.

Once you have the photos that you want, you can arrange them in an attractive manner on the album or scrapbook. You can also add notes or letters you have exchanged, or probably print out an email that meant something to both of you, and add them to the scrapbook. You can also decorate your work using accents you can create on the computer – borders, clip art, or cute illustrations.

Transfer Paper Art

Iron-on transfer paper is a true blessing when it comes to printing. It allows you to create printouts from an inkjet printer and put these printouts on cloth with the use of a flat iron.

You can print out photographs of your departed loved one on iron-on transfer paper and then use them to make quilts or wall hangings or even T-shirts. Just print them out, lay them out however you please on your fabric of choice, and then iron them in place.

Customized Journal Pages

Many people believe that writing one’s thoughts by hand in a journal is the best way to achieve catharsis, especially in grief. You can just buy a notebook for this, but if you want something customized, you can make your own journal sheets and just bind them yourself.

You can do this using a word processor like MS Word. Create a template by drawing equidistant lines on the document. You can add a background image if you want, and you can even make this background image a picture of your departed loved one. You can also add some custom text like a favorite quotation at the footer of the document. And then, print out as many of this template as you want.

Grieving for your loss is a natural process and you do not have to rush through it. There are many ways to cope with grief, but no matter what it is that you choose, remember that life has to go on somewhat and you would honor your loved one’s memory by moving on.
