Transferring photos from inkjet nonporous surface?
Does anyone know how to transfer photos to a non-porous surface? I want to make a transferring images from the printer to a plastic tiles. Any ideas? I know using a mirror image … What then? How I can transfer?
Actually, there * are many ways to transfer images (not porous) surfaces (although you might want to sand the surface a little first to improve the teeth in some cases). We do this in a long polymer clay … but sometimes just do the oil too. If necessary use only an inkjet to get a picture you have to use some kind of transfer paper (there are special coated paper or some other clay work too) as well as a kind of acrylic solvent or carrier if you want to get more than a transfer of images of light (unless you use the method packing tape above.) And the heat is often helpful in certain cases. By the way, you can make either a "direct" transfer or you can make a transparent intermediary "tag" transfer. Instead of explaining all the ways (because there are many variables and options for each), only check out the Downloads page on its website. http://glassattic.com/polymer/transfers.htm In reality there is more information on that page of the ever necessary, but you might want to start with the category called "transfer documents" and also "non-liquid clay mediums if you have to use ink jet (if you use a toner-based image – photocopies or laser – more options open even though).
